Mapping Multiple Fields
When you select and drag multiple fields, you can automatically connect the destination fields, using a matching method like matching by field name.
Selecting Multiple Fields
You can do any of the following to select multiple fields:
- Click and drag up or down to select consecutive fields.
- Click while pressing Shift to select consecutive fields.
- Click while pressing Ctrl to select nonconsecutive fields.
Mapping Multiple Fields
After you select the source fields, drag the mouse to the destination fields. You can drag source to destination fields starting from the input fields or output fields.
Automatically Connecting Fields
The Flow Designer automatically connects the destination fields after you drag the source fields across the mapping area. You can select one of the following matching methods:
- Selected field (default): Before you select and drag the source fields, select the destination fields you want to connect to. If you don't select any fields, fields are matched by the field order.
- Field order: When you drag to the starting destination field, the Flow Designer connects the rest of the fields one after another.
- Field interval: The Flow Designer keeps the arrows parallel. When you select source fields and drag to the starting destination field, the Flow Designer connects the next fields based on the intervals between the source fields.
- Field name: The Flow Designer connects each source field to the destination field with the same name. If there isn't a destination with the same name, the Flow Designer doesn't map the field.
Changing the Default Matching Method
Right-click anywhere in the mapping area, click Matching Method for Multi Fields, and select a new matching method.
Cycling through Matching Methods while You Drag
When you drag the source fields over the other side, press the Ctrl key to cycle through the matching methods. The message pane displays the current matching method.
