Customizing the Workspace
You can configure the following display settings for mapping windows and flow windows. Configure these display settings in the Flow Designer's environment settings: click Tools > Settings and open the View/Edit tab.
Common Settings
The settings in the Common section apply to both mapping windows and flow windows:
| Display grid | Show or hide the grid lines in the workspace. You can also set the grid size and color. |

| Align components/functions to grid | When you drag the components and functions onto the workspace, snap components and functions to the gridlines. You need to display the grid to use this option. By default, components and functions autoalign to the grid. |
| Align descriptions to grid | Select this option to keep descriptions aligned to the grid. You need to display the grid to use this option. By default, descriptions don't align to the grid. |
| Show link numbers | When you're using parallel branching, select this option to display a link's number in the execution order or input order. By default, selecting a component or mapper function displays the execution order or input order. |
| Open the most recently opened flow when you open a project | When you open a project, open the most recently opened flow. |
| Property Font | Enter the default font. |
Options for Flow Windows
| Default link type | Draw the next links in the link style you select here. |

| After dropping in a component, link with the nearest component | When you drag a component from the palette, automatically add a link to the nearest component. |
| Autolink to the nearest unlinked component | When you drag a component from the palette, automatically add a link to the nearest unlinked component |
| Drag a component onto a link to insert the component | When you drag a component from the palette onto a link, the component's inputs and outputs are connected to the previous component and the next component, inserting the component into the order of execution. |
| Close Mappers when you close a flow | When you close a flow, close any open Mapper components in the flow. |
| Close the project when you close the project's flows | When you close all flows from a project, also close the project. |
| Keep links on delete (StreamPassThrough only) | When you delete a component with the StreamPassThrough property set, connect the previous component to the next component. By default, this option is selected. Clear this option to delete the links too when you delete a component. Hold Ctrl while you press Delete to reverse the default behavior. |
Options for Mapping Windows

| Highlight links when you select an output field | When you select an output field, highlight the chain of links. You can also right-click in the mapping window to toggle this. |
| Close the function collection when you close its SubFunctions | When you close a function collection's SubFunctions, close the function collection. |

Options for the Description Style
| Font | Enter the default font. |
|---|---|
| Foreground | Select the color of the text. |
| Background | Select the color of the text box's background. |
| Alpha | Select the transparency of the background color. |
