Customizing Palettes
This section shows how to customize the layout of the component palette and mapper-function palette. The layout consists of tabs that organize components and mapper functions into categories. Every tab also displays the icons you define as favorites.
Rearranging Icons
You can right-click an icon to move the icon to the favorites list or remove the icon from the palette. Note that to add back an icon after you remove it, you need to reinitialize the palette.
You can also drag to move icons to a new tab. You first need to enable drag and drop: Click Tools > Settings. On the Common tab, in the Palette section, select the option to enable editing the palette with drag and drop.
Customizing the Palette's Layout
You can right-click anywhere in the palette to do the following:
- Add and remove tabs.
- Rename the current tab.
- Select the visible tabs.
- Change the palette style: Select the icon style to display the icons horizontally. Select the list style to display the icons in a vertical list that also shows descriptions.
Moving the Palette
You can drag the palette from the title bar or click the float, dock, and autohide buttons in the title bar. To show the title bar, you can right-click in the palette. For procedures to float, dock, and autohide, see Customizing Panes.
Initializing the Palette
To initialize the palette to the default layout, do one of the following:
- Right-click the palette and click Initialize Palette.
